Summarizing basics of Internet Marketing


While doing SEO projects lots of newly turned professionals generally stick to optimizing page content, intelligent use of keywords, and generating efficient titles. But there are lots more that could be done. Even keeping with the basics can do a miracle. You can reach to thousands of more customers & viewers. There is no one who will tell about the minute but yet very impact full ways :

1. Slow loading pages mark a negative impression on fresh viewer. If your competitor have website similar to what you have, and his pages are loading in lesser time, then they will attract more visitors than you. So avoid using heavy files like audio, video, flash or bulk images. If a website required including these files then it is a better alternative to provide an optional link. Frames are no longer a good idea to use. Also marquee tags are heavy to load, so avoid if unnecessary.

2. Good Navigation is the key.
  • While searching a page visitor hate to scroll left to right.
  • Top to bottom is easy to attain.
  • Don’t make your page too much congested so that readability becomes difficult.
  • There should be a clear difference between a text, a link, an advertisement or an image.

3. Title to the link should be self explanatory. Try to design a page such that a person can easily find what he is looking for, don’t make him to travel too long.. other wise nothing can stop him switching to your competitors.


4. As far as sales being the primary target of a company, they have to struggle over branding too. Branding is to noticify the market with your existence. If you are providing a quality product then branding helps you a lot in retaining your customer. Once a customer believes in your product, he or she would not have to search you a long way. He or she can easily go for your company or product name.

5. PPC is good, handle properly.
Pay per Click will serve you better for a short term goal. But if you are satisfying your customers, offering quality product then why will you pay a part of your profit for PPC management. Though there are some advantages of PPC Management task performed to a website:

  • It will divert traffic immediately to your site.
  • It is good for research work for the right keywords for which site performing well.
  • It provides the facility to try for large amount of keywords. Out of various keywords in the respective category you can choose the right phrases that are converting viewer to consumer.
  • It can be used as the best way to advertise your website or products during the peak time of sales like holidays or festival seasons.

But keep this in mind that the mis-management of PPC can prove very expensive to your company budget. As all the clicks are not converted into deals.

6. Once your site has been optimized properly, it is for sure that you are going to receive the traffic continuously for free & for long. All then matters are your potential to change them into customer. Also the traffic received from organic search engines are much more than that received by PPC programs.

It has been observed that most of the website performs extremely well if they are treated with the right combination of SEO & PPC. If SEO & PPC been handled expertly then no doubt it will give boost to your business, but if goes into wrong hand it will take you months to regain the present online business conditions.

7. Mouth Publicity.In world of marketing weather online or off line, the basics remains the same. You have to satisfy your customer requirements, overcome their needs & fulfill their acceptations. If you lack in this area no one will come back to you. We cannot relay on chances that one day will get better business, or that some magic will let our business grow. We have to work hard for this. Even a small ignorance will harm to your business. Understanding public requirement is not an easy task. Some home work for doing our research work is follow

  • Before starting a new project think your self as a common buyer, and try to find out what you need while doing a purchasing. Things like value for money, ease of dealing, ease in selecting product and getting quality product are the parameters that cannot be ignored
  • Have a little survey among common people, to find what changes they want from the custom form of market as well as what features they really like to continue
  • Always Target the best in the business. Study them why are they best, what are they providing so that they are best, why people like to trade with them. Also look at the other side of the coin. Find out what are the features of 'the best in the business', that are not appreciated by general public. This will help you develop a strategy to step ahead from the best.
  • In businesses, that start dynamically but cannot survive in the market for long, the common mistakes made by the entrepreneurs are that they loose the control over the management. For gaining more and more profit they overtook projects beyond their capacity. This ultimately led to crossing deadlines provided by client side. In order to coordinate with these deadlines their product quality decreases. Hence, in the end, the business that was once receiving lots of projects goes down with no revenue at all.
  • Customer satisfaction is the key. All your work & efforts are useless until you manage to satisfy your customers. All you need to do is to give value for your customer's money, try to win their faith and keep that faith alive each time they make any purchasing.
  • The word-of-mouth publicity seems to mark better impact as than any other advertising. If a customer enjoyed your services then he can refer you to 5 to 10 people. If general public has started recommending you, this shows that you almost win the marketing battle. But be aware, if instead of that one seems to have a bad experience in dealing with you, he will go to hundreds of others, telling about your poor services he received.


8. Never ever ignore any customer’s problem. If you get a negative feedback for any poor experience received by your customer, feel lucky that you are getting aware of where you are lacking. Don’t ignore him, but apologize for your mistake and try that this may never happen in future.

9. Always try to provide best customer support you can. If problem is little bit complex, then avoid the conversation through mails. Contact them personally on Phone, this will shows your concern about the services. It will be better to have a webpage of FAQ & answers for the queries that are causing trouble continuously to your customer.

Let us begin with an example

You are navigating through a website; suddenly you saw a link that says "Learn about Robotics". You being interested in subject clicked that link. This opens a web page containing just 2 or 3 lines about the robotics, and rests about some the company that owned the website. How would you feel?

It is very important from the SEO point of view, as well as viewer consideration, that each product or services provide by the website is described in different WebPages. These web pages are the interior pages of the website. In case of Home page, situation is exactly opposite. Here you try to put maximum information to attract the viewer. If a web page is targeting a single product or services it is very easy for a SEO Professional to load that page with right amount of keywords, so as the page may take right position in search engine.
